Wildlife Sanctuary

In Spearfish, we have a Wildlife Santuary that houses and takes care of abused and/or abandoned wildlife. It's a really neat place and we have always wanted to go but just never got around to it. In early September they were hosting a family day so it gave us the excuse to go check it out finally. It was well worth it. We had a great time!

We got really close to this leopard. Such a cool animal but a little freaky.

Taylor-isms

I want to start documenting some of the funny things that Taylor says/does. I have missed a lot of them already but I'm going to start writing them down so we can look back someday and have a good laugh. She is such a funny kid and has quite the personality.

Taylor-ism #1:

Every morning Taylor wants a "NannaWook" for breakfast. Any guesses?

Banana + Waffle. Silly girl! Not sure where this came from but it sure has stuck.

Taylor's Wordle

I found a super fun website where you can plug in a bunch of different words and it will arrange them artistically. You can also put in a blog or website and it will pull the most used words and arrange them. I put in all the words that describe Taylor right now, her favorting things and her favorite words. It was a lot of fun. I think I will do this for her every year.

Somebody's Two!!!!

My sweet baby girl is now 2! I can't believe it! Time goes SO fast! She started saying that she was "almo two" a few weeks before her birthday and now loves to tell everyone that she is "two!" The girl definitely knows how to celebrate! My parents were going to be out of town for her party so they had us over a few days before and spoiled her rotten. John's parents came into town on Saturday and gave her a few of her gifts early. We had a party for her on Sunday. We went to Rapid City on Monday to John's sister's house and had cupcakes and sang happy birthday to her and she got to bring cupcakes and leftover treats from her party to daycare on Tuesday! Whew!

We had her birthday party at theHoliday Inn in Spearfish this year. I absolutely LOVE throwing parties so was pretty bummed that we couldn't have a party at our house this year but we started talking to the Holiday Inn and it turned out absolutely perfect and I didn't have to clean my house. :) It was really nice to have the room for the kiddos to run and swim and I could still do all of my food and decorations. I didn't do as much as I would have wanted to but I think it turned out pretty good. We had a great turnout. It was Labor Day weekend so a lot of people were out of town but we used it as an excuse to have a mini Ainsworth reunion. It was really nice to see everyone! We'll have to make it a yearly thing! Thanks everyone for helping our sweet girl celebrate her birthday! It was so fun! My pictures from the party turned out blurry. Not sure if it was a setting or the humidity from the pool. Bummer!

Opening presents

John's sister Becky and our niece Riley was here from Colorado. She stayed in Rapid City with John's sister Jen so on Monday we went over there for dinner and cupcakes (since we forgot to give Taylor a cupcake and sing happy birthday to her at her party...in our defense she was running around like a mad woman the entire time!) :)

Kool Deadwood Nights

Last weekend was Kool Deadwood Nights in Deadwood. It's a huge classic car festival that they have every year. It's fun to walk around and look at all the custom cars and listen to the concerts on Main Street. John and I have never actually been to it until this year. Some of our fam from CO came for it so we met them on Saturday night and had a great time. I didn't actually get any pics of the cars or concerts (I know...I know). I stole the one above from online and I snapped a couple of Taylor being crazy and insisting on eating her snack in the middle of Main Street (It was blocked off...don't worry). :)
