Impressions

This is what I caught Taylor doing one day. She was just watching tv and feeding her baby like it was no big deal. I had the hardest time not busting out laughing. The kid doesn't miss a thing. It's amazing! hahahaha

Sisterly Love

Taylor loves her new little sister. She is so helpful and is always excited to see her. She wants to see her first thing in the morning. She goes straight to Devyn when she walks in the door after daycare and always kisses her goodnight. She talks to her and loves on her all the time. She is the perfect big sister and I'm SO excited to watch these two grow and pray that they have an amazing relationship for years to come.

1 Month Old!!!

Devyn is 1 month old!! Time goes so fast! She is a super good baby and such a sweetheart. She loves to snuggle and is so alert. She's a great sleeper. I feel pretty good for having a newborn and a 3-year old in the house. She's a good eater. She is ready to eat abt every 3 hrs during the day and will go longer stretches at night. We are so incredibly blessed with our sweet little family. I couldn't have dreamed of anything better. love love love...

Her 1 Month well visit went great. She's absolutely perfect and the doctor was pleased with how tolerant and alert she is.

My other new baby

After having Devyn, I started looking into photographers to do some newborn shots. It was a pretty frustrating experience. Our favorite photographer is our friend Corrie of Corrie Kraft Photography but she lives in CO and we didn't think we were ready for a big trip yet so needed to find something around here. Of all the ones I looked into, there was only one that really stood out and I was impressed with and of course she was super expensive and the others just were not very impressive at all. I started feeling like I could do just as good as some of them so started looking into cameras and figured I might as well give it a shot and see if I could make it work. One shoot would pay it off so it seemed pretty worth it. Now, I get to learn how to use it and see what I can do. I'm super excited to be able to take quality pics of my girls and not have to pay someone to do it. Stay tuned for the newborn pics. :)

First Bath

First real bath was a hit. She loved it! She just laid there and enjoyed the whole thing, Such a sweet baby!

St. Patty's Day

We had a pretty low-key St. Patrick's Day this year. We ran to Rapid City to do some shopping and pick up my new camera (see next post) that morning. My cousin Matt and his family and my cousin Eric and his family were in town for the weekend so we had them over for pizza that night. It was a super nice day so we were able to sit out on our patio and enjoy a couple of beers. It was perfect!

Playdate #2

We had another playdate! My friend Angie is on maternity leave too so she came over and brought me coffee (I could get used to this). We had a great time just relaxing and talking and playing with the babies. Devyn and Jordyn are 19 days apart. It's going to be a lot of fun watching them grow up together. Especially since Taylor is best friends with their son, Evan. Fun!

Comparisons

Seems like everyone is always trying to figure out which parent a baby looks like. With Taylor everyone always said how much she looked like her daddy and she did. She looked just like a mini John. She's just now finally starting to look a little more like me. Devyn came out with dark hair so that was a plus on my side but she looked just like Taylor did when she was a baby. However, when she's awake she looks a lot like her mommy. You decide...

Swimming Lessons

Taylor started swimming lessons in March. She was SO excited! She has absolutely no fear of the water which is a little scary sometimes but it definitely helps when it comes to lessons. Two parents had to deal with screaming kids. I don't think I would deal with that very well. Taylor is the complete opposite. She had to be rescued and even that didn't scare here. They have a bench in the pool so that the kids can stand on it and she was messing around and slipped off. The instructor was dealing with the screaming kids so he didn't catch her right away. John and I were both ready to jump in but he got to her before we had to (thank goodness...that wouldn't be a pretty sight). It didn't even phase her. She got back on the bench and finished her lesson like nothing happened. Crazy kid! She did a great job and is going to be swimming on her own before we know it. She's growing up so fast!

Faces

Loves these sweet faces! These were all taken in about a minute. Silly girl.

First Playdate

My friend, Amber and her daughter, Ainsley came over for a playdate and some coffee. I've been so lucky and have a couple of other friends that are on maternity leave at the same time. It's been great getting together with them for some girl time. The girls slept through the entire thing but I have a feeling we'll have them running around causing trouble before we know it. :)

1 Week Old!

Devyn is already one week old. Time is flying. She is such a good baby. She hardly cries (even when she's hungry) and she's just a laid back little girl. We're so lucky! I was a little scared since Taylor was such a good baby that this time around we wouldn't be so lucky but somebody must really love us :) She's sleeping great, waking up every 3-4 hours and eating good too. Taylor is loving her new little sister and is so good with her. She has been a huge helper and has adjusted really well. She loves to hold her and talk to her. She's a pretty amazing kiddo!
We went in for her 1 week Dr. appt and everything checked out perfect again. She was still at 6lbs 11oz which Dr. Folstad said was perfectly normal as they usually drop to their lowest weight at 7-9 days. She was very happy with everything and even commented on what a sweet baby she is and how tolerant she was. She said most babies cry when she's poking and prodding them. Taylor was the same way. We just have tough girls :)
