Our Sweet Baby Girl

Finally getting this posted. Sorry for the delay. It's been CRAZY around here. We haven't really had any time to relax since we've been home. We've been going non stop but it's been great seeing everyone and we're enjoying every minute with our new baby girl. Thank you all for the visits, meals, gifts, phone calls, emails, etc. We feel so blessed to have such great friends and family. We have received so many wonderful gifts. She's going to be one stylin' girl. She even received her first pair of golf shoes (pink of course) from her uncle Todd. Get those tee times set up! :)

Taylor Grace Ainsworth

Our sweet baby girl, Taylor Grace has arrived. She was born last Saturday, September 6th at 4:13am. She was 7lbs 15 oz and 20 inches long and absolutely perfect!!!
The labor and delivery went very smooth and was pretty easy. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. I was in labor for about 11 hours and slept through most of it. They actually had to wake me up to push. Can't beat that! I'll write more about the labor and delivery later.

Taylor was born with a mild case of jaundice and had to be put under the lights right away. We had to stay in the hospital a couple of extra days because of this but we were able to come home on Tuesday, the 9th. We still had to continue the light therapy at home but it wasn't as bad as in the hospital. We just had to keep her on a photo therapy pad as much as possible. We could only take her off for feedings. It's just a small pad that you lay her on and then can swaddle her up so she's comfortable. She was our little glow baby for a few days. In the hospital she had to lay under the lights in just her diaper (and her stylin' sunglasses) and couldn't be swaddled or held. It was really hard but she was a trooper. She hardly cried or fussed at all. The worst part of this jaundice business is getting her blood drawn all the time. Poor baby! We had another blood test yesterday and her levels went down enough to keep her off the photo therapy and hopefully no more lab work. We're SO excited to be done with all that!!!

The beagles were extremely excited to meet Taylor when she got home. They have been so amazing with her. Sara has kept her distance but goes up to smell her once in a while. Sadie on the other hand has been a little mama. She checks on her constantly to make sure she is okay. She will stand on her hind legs and look into the bassinet. It's so cute! I'll try to get a pic of it.

Meeting the beagles

Taylor has been such a great baby and we feel truly blessed to have her in our lives. She's a very calm baby and sleeps and feeds well. She does have a bit of a temper if she doesn't get what she wants right away. :) Feeding/diapering is definitely a full time job and I'm not sure how moms get anything done but I'm sure we'll get it figured out. We've been very busy since we got home. My parents were here for 5 days and John's parents were here over the weekend to meet the new grandbaby. My birthday was the day after we came home and was very uneventful. It certainly didn't feel like a birthday but Taylor was the best gift I could have asked for. We had an appt with the pediatrician and had to go for blood work at the lab that day. My cousin and his wife and daughter graciously brought us dinner that night and a yummy bday cake. Thanks guys! You're the best! The leftover cake came in very handy for those 3am feedings. :)

She's had a very busy first week meeting people and running around and now we're hoping to relax a little and enjoy every minute with our little girl. John had to go back to work on Tuesday and us girls are adjusting okay. It's definitely harder doing everything by yourself (especially when you throw in going to dr. appts and blood draws). It's amazing how fast time goes and how little you can get done during the day. That's going to take awhile to adjust to. The pediatrician told us on Tuesday that she seems very advanced for her age (if you can say that at 10 days old). She's such a strong baby. She can already hold her head up and even grabs on to your fingers if you hold them in front of her and pulls herself up. She even puts weight on her legs and stands up. It's crazy! She's able to focus on faces and objects very well. She smiles all the time and is very alert when she is awake. As of yesterday, she is 20.5 inches long (75th percetile), 7lbs 11oz (50th percentile).

Enjoy the pics and we'll keep you posted! Love you all and thanks again for everything!!!

Monday's the Big Day!!!

I had another Dr. Appt today and everything is still the same. Taylor must be pretty cozy in there. We decided to go ahead and schedule an induction for Monday. We tried to get it scheduled for tomorrow or Friday but they were all full so Monday it is unless she decides to come sooner which would be fabulous!! Monday is my actual due date and my Grandma's birthday! Hope she doesn't mind sharing :)
We're getting pretty anxious to meet our little girl. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers for a safe and FAST delivery on Monday.

This is how the beagles are passing the time until Taylor gets here. It's rough isn't it???

What happened to my 6 pound baby???

So, we had our 38 week doctor appointment yesterday. We had an ultrasound scheduled because our doctor was a little worried last week because baby was measuring quite a bit small and because I haven't gained much weight. Well, apparently she's not small at all! The ultrasound tech was looking at and pointing out all the parts to us and measuring each one and said so very calmly that according to the measurements, our baby is weighing in at about 8 pounds (plus or minus a pound). What?? Are you kidding me?? 8 pounds?? John said he wishes he could have captured the look on my face. That's definitely not what I was expecting to hear :) Don't get me wrong. I'm so excited and so thankful that everything is fine and that our baby is growing perfectly, but 8 pounds? I still have 2 weeks before my due date! How big is she going to be if she doesn't come until then or even later? Yikes! Everything else looked perfect on the ultrasound. It's not as fun as the 20 week ultrasound because you can't see as much but we could see her little heart beating, her kidneys, stomach, spine, etc. It also verified that she's a girl! Thank goodness because our house is flooded in pink!!

After the ultrasound I had the appointment with my doctor. She came in with a smile on her face and said, "Well this is definitely not the conversation I was planning on having with you!" :) I guess I'm just measuring small because baby is SO low and because I have a little more room than most people (because I'm tall). My exam showed no change. Still 1 cm dilated and 100% effaced. I'm about ready to get this show on the road (especially since I found out how big she is).

(38 Weeks)

After our doctor appointment we had a meeting with a pediatrician office. We loved the office and got to meet 3 of the doctors. We really clicked with one of them and think she's the one we're going to try out. Check! Another thing off my list! Whew!

Over the weekend my friend/college roommate and her husband came to visit. It was SO great to see them and spend a little time together. We went to a Rockies game with them on Saturday night. We had a good time and had great seats (Thanks guys!). I was pretty uncomfortable but I made it through without going into labor. :)

All Clear!!!

We had another dr. appt today and found out that my test results came back fine. No problems!

We're still sitting at about the same spot as last week with baby. She's still VERY low and I'm 1 cm dilated and 95-100% effaced. She's measuring a little small (could be because she's so low) but we're scheduled for an ultrasound next Monday just to make sure. All in all, everything looks great and now we just "patiently" await the arrival of our baby girl!!

Still waiting for that "nesting syndrome" too! I sure could use a little energy to get everything done around here. :)

Whoa Baby...The Countdown Has Begun!!!

We're 9 months pregnant and on our way to parenthood!
I had my 36 week Dr. Appt today and baby is definitely getting ready to go. She has dropped and is in position. I am 90% effaced and 1 cm dilated. Yikes! Things are moving along (very quickly) . We could have a baby any day now or I could walk around like this for a month. Everyone is different and there is no way to predict anything. So, I guess I should get moving and get everything done just in case. We're sitting pretty good but I still have a bunch of clothes to wash and put away in the nursery and a few more things to buy. I'm also trying to get all of my design projects finished up for work so that I don't have to worry about it with baby here. Hopefully I have enough time to finish it all up!
I'm still feeling good. My joints are starting to hurt a little more as they loosen and prepare for this baby but nothing too serious (just not fun sitting at my computer most of the day). I'm a little crampy feeling today but don't know if that really means anything. I haven't felt any contractions or anything yet.
Everything else at my appt today was good. I did lose 2 pounds since my last appt (That drops me down to 10 lbs overall weightgain) and my doctor was a little worried so she tested my thyroid. I should have that test back in the next couple of days and will keep you posted. Baby is still measuring good so there is no risk there. It just doesn't make sense why I'm not gaining any weight because I'm eating like an elephant!! I'm not kidding! I start going to see the doctor every week now until we deliver. I'll keep you updated.

36 Weeks

We have the nursery pretty much all finished now. This baby better be a girl because it's definitely PINK! I made the bumpers and crib skirt and covered the lamp. It was a little frustrating because I don't know how to sew all that well but I think they turned out great. I'm very happy with them. My grandma would be proud! :) The walls are still pretty bare so I need to find something to go on them and a little more decorating to do but other than that, I think we're done. How cute are the letters above the crib? My friend Corrie made those and gave them to me as a shower gift. Thanks girl!!
I'm so glad that it all came together. It's very peaceful just sitting in there thinking about the sweet little girl that's going to be living in there very soon. (maybe sooner than we think!

Hope you all are doing well. Please keep baby Taylor and John and I in your thoughts and prayers and we near the big day! We'll keep you updated!

Perfect Baby, Showers and Reunions

Wow...I'm now 8 months pregnant!! Less than 8 weeks to go. Yikes!

I had my 32 week dr. appt today and everything is perfect. I'm measuring right on, my blood pressure is good, I don't have any swelling and Taylor's heartbeat is great. YAY BABY!!
I have gained 11 pounds so far and am still feeling great (for the most part). I do think I hit the third trimester tiredness last week. I feel like I did in the first trimester where I hit a wall and just plain can't function anymore. Needless to say I've had a few naps in the past few days, a couple of them with my lunch still in my lap :)
32 Weeks

I had my baby shower on June 28th and it was amazing. My cousin's wife Courtney and my good friend Shannon did a fantastic job hosting it and I'm so lucky to have them in my life. It was held at my house and we had a great turnout with many great friends and family.
The food was great and the decorations were adorable!

We played a few fun games. In the first one everyone had to guess how big my belly was and then tear off that length of tissue paper. I then had to go around and see who was the closest. My friend Lori won! Too funny!

5 brave volunteers were picked for the second one. They had to drink as much apple juice out of a baby bottle as they could in a certain amount of time. Go aunt Denise!!
(Amanda, Becky, Judy, Jenni, Brittni and Denise)

The third one was Baby Shower Bingo. Everyone filled out the cards with things that they thought might be in the packages. Kate was the pro at BINGO! Great ideas girls!

I was blessed with so many gifts and fun things for Taylor. Now I can't wait for her to get here so she can use everything! THANKS EVERYONE!!!!

I had my 10-year high school reunion the weekend before my shower. It was so much fun and so great to see everyone. I almost wish we could do it every year! I was horrible at taking pics but here's a couple that I took. If anyone else has some, send them my way! :)
(Jess, Amber, Me, Megan and Mikayla)...must have forgot to turn on the red-eye reducer. Sorry girls :)
