All Clear!!!

We had another dr. appt today and found out that my test results came back fine. No problems!

We're still sitting at about the same spot as last week with baby. She's still VERY low and I'm 1 cm dilated and 95-100% effaced. She's measuring a little small (could be because she's so low) but we're scheduled for an ultrasound next Monday just to make sure. All in all, everything looks great and now we just "patiently" await the arrival of our baby girl!!

Still waiting for that "nesting syndrome" too! I sure could use a little energy to get everything done around here. :)

Whoa Baby...The Countdown Has Begun!!!

We're 9 months pregnant and on our way to parenthood!
I had my 36 week Dr. Appt today and baby is definitely getting ready to go. She has dropped and is in position. I am 90% effaced and 1 cm dilated. Yikes! Things are moving along (very quickly) . We could have a baby any day now or I could walk around like this for a month. Everyone is different and there is no way to predict anything. So, I guess I should get moving and get everything done just in case. We're sitting pretty good but I still have a bunch of clothes to wash and put away in the nursery and a few more things to buy. I'm also trying to get all of my design projects finished up for work so that I don't have to worry about it with baby here. Hopefully I have enough time to finish it all up!
I'm still feeling good. My joints are starting to hurt a little more as they loosen and prepare for this baby but nothing too serious (just not fun sitting at my computer most of the day). I'm a little crampy feeling today but don't know if that really means anything. I haven't felt any contractions or anything yet.
Everything else at my appt today was good. I did lose 2 pounds since my last appt (That drops me down to 10 lbs overall weightgain) and my doctor was a little worried so she tested my thyroid. I should have that test back in the next couple of days and will keep you posted. Baby is still measuring good so there is no risk there. It just doesn't make sense why I'm not gaining any weight because I'm eating like an elephant!! I'm not kidding! I start going to see the doctor every week now until we deliver. I'll keep you updated.

36 Weeks

We have the nursery pretty much all finished now. This baby better be a girl because it's definitely PINK! I made the bumpers and crib skirt and covered the lamp. It was a little frustrating because I don't know how to sew all that well but I think they turned out great. I'm very happy with them. My grandma would be proud! :) The walls are still pretty bare so I need to find something to go on them and a little more decorating to do but other than that, I think we're done. How cute are the letters above the crib? My friend Corrie made those and gave them to me as a shower gift. Thanks girl!!
I'm so glad that it all came together. It's very peaceful just sitting in there thinking about the sweet little girl that's going to be living in there very soon. (maybe sooner than we think!

Hope you all are doing well. Please keep baby Taylor and John and I in your thoughts and prayers and we near the big day! We'll keep you updated!

Perfect Baby, Showers and Reunions

Wow...I'm now 8 months pregnant!! Less than 8 weeks to go. Yikes!

I had my 32 week dr. appt today and everything is perfect. I'm measuring right on, my blood pressure is good, I don't have any swelling and Taylor's heartbeat is great. YAY BABY!!
I have gained 11 pounds so far and am still feeling great (for the most part). I do think I hit the third trimester tiredness last week. I feel like I did in the first trimester where I hit a wall and just plain can't function anymore. Needless to say I've had a few naps in the past few days, a couple of them with my lunch still in my lap :)
32 Weeks

I had my baby shower on June 28th and it was amazing. My cousin's wife Courtney and my good friend Shannon did a fantastic job hosting it and I'm so lucky to have them in my life. It was held at my house and we had a great turnout with many great friends and family.
The food was great and the decorations were adorable!

We played a few fun games. In the first one everyone had to guess how big my belly was and then tear off that length of tissue paper. I then had to go around and see who was the closest. My friend Lori won! Too funny!

5 brave volunteers were picked for the second one. They had to drink as much apple juice out of a baby bottle as they could in a certain amount of time. Go aunt Denise!!
(Amanda, Becky, Judy, Jenni, Brittni and Denise)

The third one was Baby Shower Bingo. Everyone filled out the cards with things that they thought might be in the packages. Kate was the pro at BINGO! Great ideas girls!

I was blessed with so many gifts and fun things for Taylor. Now I can't wait for her to get here so she can use everything! THANKS EVERYONE!!!!

I had my 10-year high school reunion the weekend before my shower. It was so much fun and so great to see everyone. I almost wish we could do it every year! I was horrible at taking pics but here's a couple that I took. If anyone else has some, send them my way! :)
(Jess, Amber, Me, Megan and Mikayla)...must have forgot to turn on the red-eye reducer. Sorry girls :)

Let's Catch Up...

Let's see...where to start...buckle up....this could be a long one...

I'm now 7 months pregnant!!!! Time is flying by and we're going to have a baby here before we know it. I'm still feeling great with the exception of the normal aches and pains that go along with it. No problems to this point. I had my 28 week appt today and had to do the dreaded glucose test which screens for gestational diabetes. It went fine and wasn't at all as bad as everybody made it sound. The heartbeat was perfect and right where it should be. I'm measuring a little small (2 cm) but the doctor wasn't at all worried about it and said that it's probably just because I'm so tall and can hide it easier. I start going every two weeks now so I'll keep you updated.

Belly Shot Catch-Up
So, I'm a little behind on the belly shots. It's definitely getting big. So far I haven't bought any maternity clothes except for a couple of shirts. I've been able to still wear a few pair of jeans and most of my longer shirts still fit. Our beagles apparently feel the need to be in the pictures too. :)

NAME!!!
We have decided that our baby girl's name is going to be TAYLOR. We're not sure on a middle name yet but Taylor seems to be sticking and I'm sure it will stay that way unless she absolutely doesn't look like a "Taylor" when she is born. :) We would love to hear any ideas you might have on a middle name.

Misc...
We've been extremely busy the past few weeks. Last weekend we started moving everything out of my office and into John's office so that Taylor has a nursery. It's a little crowded but I think it will work out great. I actually like it much better than my old office. Everything is still an absolute disaster but I'm sure it will all come together at some point. I'll post pics when we get the nursery done.

We got all registered at both Target and Babies 'R' Us a few weeks ago. That's such an exhausting process. There is so much stuff and so many options. We didn't even know where to start but we forged through it and made some good decisions (I think?!?). I'm always open for advice if any of you new moms out there have any :)

About a month ago, our neighborhood hosted a hot air balloon launch as a part of the Town Fair. There were approx. 60 balloons that all took off from the driving range. It was a perfect morning (even though it was 6am...that time is not usually so perfect for me). Here's a couple of pics... (Remember it was 6am. Not so pretty!

10-Year Reunion...
We're gearing up this week for our trip to South Dakota to see family and for my 10-year reunion (Yikes...we're getting old kids!). We're leaving Thursday afternoon and will be back next Wednesday. I absolutely can't wait to see everyone! We haven't seen most of our family since Christmas. Too long for only being 6 hours away. My grandparents from Chamberlain will also be there so it will be great to spend some time with them too. Yay...so fun!! I'll post lots of pics when we get back!

Shower...
My cousin Matt's wife Courtney and my good friend Shannon are graciously throwing me a baby shower next weekend (28th). They are so kind and generous to do this. I can't wait! Thanks girls! You're the best!! Here's what the invitations look like. I'm also doing the nursery in this same sort of theme. I wish it was done already!

Take care everyone and I'll post more when we get back! Love ya!

IT'S A GIRL!!!!

We had our ultrasound today and found out that we are having a beautiful baby girl! Our ultrasound tech was great and explained everything. It was so amazing! Baby was moving all over the place. She was sucking, punching, waving and kicking doing somersaults and she even fell asleep for a little bit. So cute! We could see all the fingers, toes, spine and the four chambers of the little heart beating. Everything looked perfect and is measuring right on.

The ultrasound tech thought she had John's nose! :)

Sweet little foot

It's Spring...or was!

Hmmm...where to start. I've been incredibly busy with graphic design projects which is a good thing and the excuse I'm using for not updating this more often. Not too much has been happening around here. We've just been busy with random stuff. It's currently snowing which is such a bummer after the past few days we've had. Welcome to Colorado! :)

John had the day off yesterday. He woke me up at 5:30 (I know...I was thinking the same thing). He made me get in the car (pj's and all), blindfolded me and took me to a little spot very close to our house to watch the sunrise. It was absolutely amazing! The spot was up on top of a hill so we could see forever. We had a great view of the mountains and couldn't have asked for a better day (It ended up being over 80 degrees). We then went home and had breakfast and took a nap. We took the beagles to the dog park and got some good exercise. We took them home and then we went and had ice cream at Cold Stone and went to a lake by our house and did some more walking. I finally had some energy and we definitely took advantage of it. It was a perfect day! What an amazing husband I have!

Baby is doing good and kicking and moving around like crazy. We've been able to feel it kicking (from the outside) for about 3 weeks now. It's such a bizarre and amazing feeling. We definitely have ourselves a soccer player or my mom thinks a boxer like my dad. I'm currently 19 weeks (19w5d). We have our ultrasound next Tuesday and find out the sex. Hopefully we don't have a modest baby because I'm dying to find out if it's a boy or girl. STAY TUNED!!!

To catch up...We got to hear the baby's heartbeat again at our 16 week appt. The heart rate was 178 and normal.
These pics were taken at 16 weeks (I know...I'm behind). I'll post more next week!

Second Trimester!

Hey all! Happy St. Patricks Day! Hope you all have a green beer for me! :)

I've been horrible at updating this thing and thought I should write a quick note. I'm currently at 15 weeks and in my second trimester. I'm feeling better and have a little more energy (some days). I'm still wearing my clothes but my jeans are getting pretty tight and usually end up unbuttoned by the end of the day :) I'm sure I'll have to take a shopping trip pretty soon!

We have our next Dr. appt next Tuesday and we'll get to hear the heartbeat again. We get to find out the sex of the baby at 20 weeks. I can't wait! I'm so excited to start planning a nursery and buying pink or blue stuff. Yay!

I came across this picture and thought I would share it. We had this photo morph done a couple of years ago with our friends Joel and Rebecca. You sit in a photo booth and it morphs your faces to see what your future child will look like. Ours actually turned out pretty cute and it kind of looks like John did when he was a baby. We'll see how accurate it is in a few months. :) Joel and Rebecca's didn't turn out as cute. Their morphed baby had crazy curly hair and buck teeth. Luckily their daughter Maggie turned out absolutely beautiful and certainly doesn't have buck teeth yet! :)

Hope you all are doing great!! Have a HAPPY EASTER!!!

Healthy Baby!

We got to hear the baby's heartbeat today!! The heart rate was 160 and we could hear the baby moving all over the place. It was amazing.! I am currently 12 weeks and almost done with with the first trimester. I'm FINALLY starting to feel much better. Not as much nausea and not quite as tired. I feel like I can actually function like a human being again.

Here's a pic of my belly at 12 weeks. It's coming along!

A friend of ours recently told us about the Chinese Gender Chart. We thought it would be fun to try it out and according to the chart we're having a girl!
(The horizontal rows represent the month of conception and the vertical rows represent the mother's age, by lining up the two rows you will get the result of the prediction for the baby. Pink is a girl and blue is a boy.)

Another wives tale I recently heard is if your baby's heart rate is over 140 it's a girl and if it's under 140 it's a boy. Our baby's heart rate today was 160 so this also says we're having a girl.
We'll see in about 8 weeks. We can't wait! You can vote for what you think baby Ainsworth will be on the margin of this page.

Family Pictures!

Hey all-
Welcome to our new blog. Thought this might be a good way to keep you informed on what's going on in the Ainsworth family.

Here's some family pictures taken before Christmas by our good friend Corrie. She's an amazing and extremely talented photographer. You can check out her website at: www.corriekraft.com THANKS AGAIN CORRIE!
